Norma Mann spent a night in the hospital after suffering a mild heart attack on Tuesday. She is home and back to her normal activities.

Myrna Wall is in Retama Manor for rehab after a short stay in the hospital. She would appreciate visits and prayers.

Thank you! On behalf of all the volunteers at the Harlingen Neighborhood Food Pantry we send a huge thank you for the donation at your Wednesday evening dinner. We are so blessed to be a part of your church family. The volunteers are happy and so are the clients! Thank you for the donation and for your hospitality and love. God Bless, Jim & Wende Coffman

Anyone in the church is encouraged to nominate a person or family to receive a basket, and turn the name in before November 17. Basket assembly is planned for Nov 23. Elder Reaffirmation and Selection: Beginning today, we are asking for nominations for elders. Nominations will be accepted for three weeks, ending on Sunday, November 10. During this time, please take some time to prayerfully consider the scriptural expectations of godly leaders and nominate the men in our church family you believe are capable of taking on those responsibilities. Rob has provided a brief treatment of many of the important texts to aid you in your study. You can find this packet at any exit, next to the bulletins. Feel free to nominate as many or as few men as you think qualified. You may nominate men currently serving as elders, as well as add new names to the mix. Nomination forms are also located next to the bulletin, and they will be collected each Sunday morning along with the attendance cards. The elders have selected a group of six men to handle nominations. As qualified men are nominated, members of the committee will meet with them to determine their willingness to serve as elders. On November 17, the committee will present a final list of qualified nominees willing to serve, with a congregational vote to follow the next Sunday (November 24). The new group of shepherds will be announced after the Thanksgiving holidays. Thank you in advance for your prayerful and studied participation in selecting the leadership of our church family.

Hope for Haiti's Children January 25 - February 2 Catherine Rochell, Heather Smith and Kara Smith will be joining over 40 other volunteers from around the country on a medical mission trip to Haiti. They will be conducting a medical clinic that will be providing medical, dental and optical exams to about 1500 children. They will be collecting various items to take to the children including neck ties, stickers, tooth brushes and tooth paste. Monetary donations to help with trip costs would also be greatly appreciated. For more information you may contact any of these ladies. As preparations for this trip continue they ask for your continued prayers and support.
